Lian Fang Zhou’s heart was warm and she quickly stepped forward to take the dry firewood from his hands. “I’m not so delicate that I have to be afraid of wind and rain! Besides, it’s the end of June, how cold could it be? Come and sit down! Ha, I haven’t seen a storm on the mountain before, how interesting!”
Ah Jian smiled helplessly and scratched his nose. “You are very brave, not afraid at all!”

The sound of the pouring rain, accompanied by the muffled boom of thunder, resounded through the sky. It was as if heaven and earth were about to explode.
The rain was very heavy and a thick fog quickly rose over the landscape. The humidity was pushed by the wind, making it cold enough to cause the two to shiver and break out in goosebumps.
Ah Jian pulled Lian Fang Zhou close and wrapped his body around her. “Are you cold?”
“Not cold!” Lian Fang Zhou said even as she shrank into his arm. Shaking her head, she reached out and hugged his waist. Smiling, she said lightly: “Your arms are very warm!”
Ah Jian let out a soft hum and hugged her even tighter. The two stood together in the cave, watching the unique scene outside.
The cave was narrow and under the catastrophe-like wind and rain, the heavy pounding of thunder, it was like they were surrounded by thousands of running horses.
The world was vast and the wind and rain were infinite.
Far and near, layers of fog curled around the mountains until they were shrouded in mist and rain. Looking through the curtain of water, everything was very special.
Lian Fang Zhou was nestled obediently in Ah Jian’s arms but after listening to the rhythmic pounding of the rain, she felt a little stir crazy.
Noticing her change, Ah Jian lowered his head and stared at her with a slight smile on his lips. He kissed her lightly on the forehead, holding her tightly.
Time passed unknowingly and the storm seemed to have no end. The line between heaven and earth was hazy, as if the two had merged into one.
Suddenly Lian Fang Zhou exclaimed: “Oh!” Looking at Ah Jian, she said: “I don’t know what time it is, it’s already so dark!”
“Don’t panic.” Ah Jian patted her shoulder lightly and said with a soft smile: “It’s like this on rainy days. It looks gloomy but it’s not actually that late. And it’s not a big deal, we can just stay in this cave tonight. There aren’t any big beasts on this mountain and even if there are, I am here.”
“That’s right.” Lian Fang Zhou nodded, feeling relieved. “With you here, why should I worry!”
Ah Jian pulled her deeper into the cave. “Aren’t you tired after standing for so long? Sit down and rest.”
She did feel a little tired. “My legs are numb, can you rub them for me?”
“Yes!”
“And my waist seems to be sore.”
“I’ll rub it too!”
“Don’t play tricks!” Lian Fang Zhou said, suddenly looking vigilant with her eyes wide.
Ah Jian laughed. “Lady, you are my wife! Do you still care about this?”
Blushing, she gave him a sharp look as if to say: is she so careless?

Looking at her speechless, aggrieved look, Ah Jian was even happier. Suppressing a smile, he took her hand and helped her sit down. “Okay, I will stop teasing you! Be good, I will rub them for you.”
Lian Fang Zhou let out a delighted hum and sat down beside him.
“How about I light the fire?” Ah Jian said after kneading her feet for a while.
She raised her head and looked out of the cave. The heavy rain was still pouring down with great energy and showed no sign of weakening. And the sky looked darker than before. “It’s alright. We don’t have much firewood and we’ll need it tonight. It’s better to wait until it’s completely dark to start the fire.”
Ah Jian smiled: “You want to spend the night here?”
“Is there any choice?” Lian Fang Zhou curled her lip. “With the weather like this, even if the rain stopped now we wouldn’t be able to get down the mountain. Let’s just wait until tomorrow morning! Anyway, there is no rush.”

Ah Jian pulled the flint out of his robes and lit a fire.
The dim yellow flame flickered weakly in the rainy night but after he blew on it, it suddenly flared up and started burning steadily, lighting up the cave.
Lian Fang Zhou let out a tiny sigh of relief.
Under the bright warmth of the fire, the damp chill dissipated almost immediately and the fog seemed to recede. Lian Fang Zhou warmed her hands by the fire and smiled: “You have good foresight! Otherwise the two of us would be miserable right now.”
Ah Jian raised an eyebrow with amusement: “Not necessarily! If I hugged you, it would also be very warm!”
