Before he could finish his sentence, Lian Fang Zhou grabbed the soft pillow and threw it at him, blushing angrily. “I told you not to make fun of me! In the future, don’t even think about—”

“Don’t!” Ah Jian pushed the pillow away with a wave of his hand and pulled her into his arm, grinning. “I’m still waiting for tonight—”

“Don’t say it! Don’t say it!” Lian Fang Zhou quickly covered his mouth, wanting to beat the ground petulantly.

Ah Jian continued to laugh wickedly, how could he bear to let her go? After hugging and kissing her relentlessly between laughter, he got up.

Lian Fang Zhou looked at his back, feeling a little dazed. She suddenly felt that Ah Jian was different than before, almost as if… well, it couldn’t be said that he was a different person but she just felt that something was different.

After he finished dressing, he thoughtfully brought her clothes over and helped her put them on. Lian Fang Zhou happily let him take care of her and the strange feeling was instantly thrown away.

What happened yesterday had really scared her terribly, she had been so scared she couldn’t think about it.

But he was still her husband who loved and cared for her.

After staying for another three days, Lian Fang Zhou and Ah Jian planned to leave for their hometown.

They hadn’t gone to any other remote places, just leisurely walked around town and exchanged sweet words between each other, very tender.

The night before they left, Lian Fang Zhou and Ah Jian went to talk to Nie Erlang.

Of course, this was about what Lian Fang Zhou had said earlier.

For business affairs, Ah Jian never interfered. Only when Lian Fang Zhou needed him to do something would he make a move.

Lian Fang Zhou asked Nie Erlang if he would like to work for her.

Lianjia’s cotton products would definitely open up on a large scale. According to plan, they would blossom everywhere in the Jiangxi providence.

And Anhui, as a neighboring province, would certainly not be worse.

Nie Erlang was obviously a business genius. To be a small boss running a small farmhouse on a remote mountain, this scale was simple too small. He couldn’t even be called a boss, just making money for his family.

What a waste!

Nie Erlang was very excited when she revealed her identity and invited him to join her business.

It was just that this was a big event and he couldn’t make a decision too quickly.

When he told her this, he was a little nervous and secretly glanced at Lian Fang Zhou, afraid that she would think he was ignorant and be angry.

But Lian Fang Zhou understood and didn’t urge him. She smiled and told him to go back and think about it first, leaving ten taels of silver as travel expenses.

Nie Erlang couldn’t refuse and accepted the bank note.

By the time Lian Fang Zhou and Ah Jian set out to leave, Nie Erlang had also packed a simple bag and left with them. He had already considered it and decided to follow the Lian family. He also tried to return the ten taels but Lian Fang Zhou refused to take it back. He could only leave it at home to supplement the family income.

Ten days later, Lian Fang Zhou arrived in Shaungliu county with Ah Jian, Zhang Xiao Jun, and Nie Erlang.

It was unavoidable to visit the Su family again. The two cousins talked affectionately, stayed overnight, and went home the next day.

When they reached Yuhe county, they stopped and handed Nie Erlang over to Bai Shi Ling and Lian Ze along the way.

In the future, he would be sent back to Anhui to open a branch in Luzhou.

The key to seizing the market was to find the first opportunity and naturally the sooner the better!

Lian Ze and Bai Shi Ling were pleasantly surprised to see Lian Fang Zhou and her husband.

Everything was going according to plan: Lianjia’s cotton cloth was already on the market and the workshop was in full swing. They were busy all day.

Lian Fang Zhou asked a few questions and found that everything was in good condition and their development momentum was good, which could be seen in the smiles on Bai Shi Ling and Lian Ze’s faces.

This was within her expectation. Cotton cloth was soft, comfortable, and close-fitting. It was best worn in summer and was a new item that had just debuted. All the colors and styles were designed by Su Jin based on a few intentional and unintentional suggestions by Lian Fang Zhou.

Although Lian Fang Zhou didn’t know anything about this business, she had seen a lot of tricks in modern times. Su Jin was also very smart and only needed a little hint to be enlightened. The patterns she designed were a fusion of modern and current fashion, looking novel and fresh. Even Lian Fang Zhou was amazed by the designs so it was no wonder that others loved them!

Naturally, Lian Fang Zhou was very relieved to see her younger brother looking calmer and more steady. His aura was dignified and restrained.

Lian Ze told them about Boss Wang and Boss Xiao.

“As soon as the government announced the technology for cotton growing, picking, and spinning, I met those two on the road. Hehe, Sister, you should have seen their faces, it was really wonderful…”

Listening to Lian Ze, Bai Shi Ling added: “Second Young Master is soft-hearted and didn’t bother them too much. If you ask me, when dealing with this kind of villain it’s better to take an eye for an eye! If you use the momentum, as long as you plan carefully, they won’t be able to stand up even ten years from now! If you were more ruthless, it wouldn’t be difficult to expel them now.”

Lian Ze quickly cut in, saying: “That being said, I don’t pity them! It’s just that our family is currently in the limelight. They wouldn’t dare to shake us so as long as our people aren’t foolish, they won’t be poached by them again. In this case, it’s fine to be a little more generous. It’d be too petty to care about them!”

“Even though Second Young Master says this, it really is too cheap for them!” Bai Shi Ling sighed, smiling. “But this is good, our Lianjia deserves to have a good reputation and their deeds spread while their business plummets!”

Lian Fang Zhou laughed: “That’s right! It is indeed inappropriate for us to add insult to injury with our current status. We know the pain we have suffered but the world will only see us as we are now. Everyone sympathizes with the weak and we are no longer weak!”

After she said this, both Lian Ze and Bai Shi Ling laughed and agreed.

Bai Shi Ling couldn’t help but sigh internally. This Miss Lian, at such a young age, was more clearsighted then the rest of the world. With such a master in the Lian family, it was indeed a good choice for him to follow them…

Before Lian Fang Zhou had left Jiangxi, there was only a few cotton items out but now almost all of the cotton goods in the market were produced by Lianjia.

Lianjia’s reputation was known everywhere in Jiangxi and within the industry, the entire southeast area also knew of them.

The first step was their debut. The Lianjia brand of cotton cloth had been successfully established. As for whether it would stand firm in the future, this was not Lian Fang Zhou’s business.

After the technology for cotton had been released, many small and large cotton mills popped up. Although none of these were a threat to Lianjia at present— the quality of their raw material and products being far inferior— it was still a little difficult for Lian Fang Zhou to see them using the technology she had worked so hard for.

  1. I’m not so sure about LFZ being clearsighted 😝…she’s right that they shouldn’t do anything petty and on the surface in retaliation, but there’s definitely lots of ways to retaliate financially that don’t look like retaliation and aren’t traceable…something about pulling up trouble by the roots…

      1. 😂 I think for me, yes I’ve been spoiled a bit by other novels, but in the beginning LFZ (and LH too…) were so promising! It just feels like the more AJ progresses, the more LFZ falls behind…
