Except for the last process of planting, all these tasks were done by Lian Fang Zhou, Ah Jian, and Lian Ze. Zhang Xiao Jun’s family only helped boil and carry the hot water and neither they, nor any of the other workers, including Qin Feng and Su Zi Ji, were involved with the treatment.

The process was especially cumbersome and by the time all the seeds had been planted, more than half a month had passed. Lian Fang Zhou and the others were extremely tired.

However, being tired was nothing. Watching the seeds of hope grow, everyone’s hearts were full of joy.

Lian Fang Zhou asked Sun Chang Xing, his wife, and four carefully chosen workers to patrol and guard the nursery at different times to prevent any emergencies from happening.

At this time, the flowering period of the fruit trees on Xiaohuaguo mountain was almost finished. The leaves were in full bloom, the ground was covered with flowers, and the branches were gradually thickening. The deep green shades were very gratifying and the long branches were densely packed with bean-like fruits.

In the nursery, the seedlings were almost an inch long, but it was still a little early to plant the fields.

Organizing the workers, Lian Fang Zhou brought everyone to Xiaohuaguo mountain. Except for the grafter fruit trees, she had them knock down all the half-grown fruit and remove them.

When they saw this, everyone thought it was a pity. They hadn’t expected the trees to bear so much fruit! Wouldn’t it be better to keep them? It had all been destroyed at once, who know how much had been lost?

Lian Fang Zhou just smiled faintly: “What’s the pity? These saplings are still tender, they can’t bear so many fruits! If they aren’t removed now, they will take up nutrients and the trees won’t be able to keep up. In the end, one two or three out of ten would be able to mature! Instead of letting the fruit consume the nutrients, its better to knock them down and let the trees grow healthy! Next year, they will surely bear more fruit.”

Thinking about it, Lian Fang Zhou thought that the reason the fruit tree saplings had produced so much fruit may have been because of the bees collecting pollen for their honey.

After the weather got warmer, Lian Fang Zhou had moved the bees rescued in the winter and raised them on sugar water at the top of the mountain. Some of the villagers had brought her wild swarms they found, earning 20 copper coins. In total, they had brought back seven nests.

Now there were eight beehive boxes on Xiaohuaguo mountain. When the forest of fruit trees bloomed, it was easy to hear the buzz of their wings as one walked through the trees and admired the flowers.

Thanks to these little insects, the flowering fruit trees in the Lin Family Orchard, the wild trees in the mountains, and the fruit trees at the entrance of the village could not compare!

When they had first placed the beehives at the top of the mountain, Sun Zhang Xing and Madam Sun were a bit afraid. However, after Lian Fang Zhou and her siblings put on some veils and harvested about 17-18 catties, they gave a couple catties to the couple and the two of them were no longer afraid.

Not only was Sun Zhang Xing not afraid, he even took the initiative to start caring for the beehives.

Hearing Lian Fang Zhou’s explanation on the fruit tree saplings, everyone thought it was justified and logical. Although they did not fully understand, they did not object. They all smiled and said: “Miss Lian’s words are reasonable! Miss Lian said that this was how it was done, so nothing can go wrong.” They started to work one by one.

Working hard, it took the dozen or so people two days to finish.

At this time, Lian Fang Zhou also felt that the chicks from Old Man Wang in Xiaowang village would be hatching soon so it was time to finish setting up the coops.

Newborn chicks were still very tender. Although the house used to keep them was very elaborate, it still needed to be covered with an even layer of straw to keep them warm at night.

There also needed to be a bit bag of rice for the chickens to eat.

First you raised them on millet for ten days before mixing it with some rice, feeding them three times a day.

Everything was ready, they were just waiting for the notification from the Wang family.

Who knew that just when Lian Fang Zhou finally had some free time to take a break, uninvited guests appeared again.

Cui Shao Xi had taken Cui Yi out again, riding a horse and carriage to Lian Fang Zhou’s house.

Cui Shao Xi was wearing a moon-white round-neck and arrow-sleeved gown with a soft silk pattern. The edges were silver-blue and his belt was inlaid with a beautiful jade. He looked even more handsome than usual, with noble brows and a fully smile. Every movement was full of a romantic charm that belonged to the children of noble families. Even if someone wanted to look, they didn’t dare.*

When Lian Fang Zhou, Lian Ze, and Ah Jian returned from the fields, Cui Shao Xi was talking and laughing with Third Aunt and Lian Fang Qing. Calling him ‘beautiful cousin’, Lian Fang Qing was showing him the little wolf pup she had raised. After three months, it had grown very quickly and was now the size of an ordinary yellow dog.

Seeing them return, Cui Shao Xi gracefully stood up and said, smiling: “Fang Zhou, you are back!”

Seeing that these two master and servant had come to her house again, Lian Fang Zhou was stunned.

Ah Jian and Lian Ze were also very surprised.

“Young Master Cui!” Lian Fang Zhou suppressed a wry smile and said: “Why are you here?”

“I just came to see you, why? Fang Zhou doesn’t want to welcome me?” Cui Shao Xi’s eyes were dark and he sighed softly.

Even his sigh was charming and unbearable.

Lian Fang Qing hurriedly said: “No way! My sister didn’t mean that! Don’t misunderstand, pretty cousin!”

Lian Fang Zhou glanced at her sister and laughed: “This is the busiest time for a farmer, so I’m afraid that I have no time to entertain you!”

“It’s okay! Just keep being busy, don’t worry about me!” Cui Shao Xi smiled. “I am very curious about the work in the fields, so it’s good for me to follow you and take a look!”

Just imagining the scenario of this handsome white-robed man standing in a field made Lian Fang Zhou want to burst out laughing. She quickly covered it with a smile and said: “It just so happens that these two days are free, so you can play around. After that, go back! Uncle Li Zheng’s family is also busy with farm work, so I’m afraid you won’t be able to stay with them for very long!”

“I won’t stay there!” Cui Shao Xi said hurriedly: “Qing’er said you finished your compound? I will just live there! By the way, since these two days are free, let’s go hunting on Xianteng mountain, okay? Don’t underestimate me, my archery skills are very good!”

He sighed: “Oh, it’s a pity that I was too late to see the flowering trees on Xiaohuaguo mountain, Qing’er said it was very beautiful!”

“…” Lian Fang Zhou was speechless for a moment. This little girl was telling Cui Shao Xi everything!

He was sighing and saying it was a pity? What pity! In a home like his, what kind of famous flowers weren’t in his garden? How much did he want to see, it was all the same!

TN: *I think the author has a fetish for Cui Shao Xi’s clothing. It is such a headache trying to keep to their descriptions while also writing it in the proper grammatical format.

    1. Can you imagine if CSX married ZRJ? She’d have him wrapped around her fingers in seconds and get all of LFZ’s secrets straight from his dumb puppy mouth, haha.

  1. I suspect that the author like his clothes because those are the only fancy clothes the author get to write about normally.

  2. I can tolerate the descriptions of young master Cui clothes for as long as we have normal FL and ML, them looking like normal people from a village without exaggerations such as snow white skin, jade like fingers, starry eyes and whatnot.

In fact, I would like to know if the ML still has his long matted beard which he had as a beggar or if he shaved it off.
