Extra 5

The author Jun discussed some stalks and some settings with Ji You when writing the article, and finally these were abandoned for various reasons. Because it is just a prototype, these stalks and settings cannot be a complete plot, just a few clips, just look at it, not as a complement.

(1) Abandoned Terrier to the Modern Times

“Oh……”

Ye Zheng groaned, her head pounding with a headache. Her whole body felt sore, as if she had been crushed by something heavy, and the pain was particularly intense. Not just intense, but also familiar, just like… when she had first entered the world with mermaids…

“Andrew…?” Ye Zheng murmured, feeling that her eyelids were very heavy and could not open.

The someone nearby cried out, almost angrily, “Zheng Zheng! Zheng Zheng are you okay?”

The voice was familiar but strange and it seemed to explode in her ear as it got closer and closer. Finally, it felt as if someone leaned over her, taking her hand and calling her name loudly.

“Andrew!” Ye Zheng screamed, waking not just herself but the people beside the bed.

“Zheng Zheng…? Andrew? Are you… is that your classmate?” The man looked at her worriedly. Gradually, Ye Zheng’s vision cleared and she realized the man looking at her anxiously was her brother, Ye Zhao.

Ye Zhao was her younger brother, only two years younger than Ye Zheng. But looking at him now, Ye Zhao was very haggard with bloodshot eyes and his skin was not as fair as she remembered. He looked seven or eight years older.

“Zheng Zheng,” The younger brother said softly, not wanting to scare her. He squeezed her hand carefully. “Do you recognize me?” He was both anxious and patiently enduring, with a slow voice. “I am your brother.”

“Brother.” Ye Zheng whispered, making Ye Zhao smile.

Ye Zheng slowly turned her head to look at the surrounding environment. She was in a spacious, bright room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a white, empty bed. Outside the window, she could hear the occasional sound of laughter and children.

(Please read this translation on https://erzoohobbytranslating.wordpress.com)

“Where am I?” She asked.

“Siberia Hospital,” Ye Zhao replied in a low voice, fearing his tone would make her uncomfortable. “A cruise ship crashed and the search and rescue team found you on a nearby island.

“Cruise ship?” Ye Zheng repeated dumbly, “The Liberty?”

Ye Zhao’s expression was a little weird. “No… the Liberty was… three years ago…” He looked at her carefully, “You… do you remember living on the island?”

“Three years?” Ye Zheng looked at the back of her hand, compared to Ye Zhao’s originally white hands, her skin was deeply tanned by the sun. “No a dream…” she mumbled.

“Dream?” Ye Zhao caught the word and patted his sister’s hand repeatedly. He wanted to hug her but hesitated timidly. “No, it’s not a dream. Zheng Zheng, we found you.”

“No, not right.” Ye Zheng desperately held back the howl that wanted to overflow her throat. She inhaled deeply, as if she could stop the falling tears. Finally, she sobbed and buried her head in the quilt.

Ye Zhao thought that his sister was overcome with relief. He reached out and stroked her head repeatedly, comforting her over and over.

“Mom is in the bathroom, she’ll be here soon. Oh, also, your classmate Serena came to see you two days ago…”

Ye Zheng couldn’t bear to hear Ye Zhao’s comfort any more. There was only one question in her mind that repeatedly hit her: What about her Anrew? Andrew, Andrew would find her missing, what would happen to him?

—–

Reasons for abandonment: The appearance of characters will increase, the appearance of mermaids will decrease, and there is no ten chapters that cannot describe the entire plot. In addition to this, the sharp change in the painting style affects the warm and mellow atmosphere of the whole text.

(2) Hot Spring Terrier

“Ah, so comfortable…”

Ye Zheng let out a long sigh of relief, soaking herself in the hot springs comfortably.  Every pore was open and happily screaming with joy.

She couldn’t remember the last time she had taken a bath. Since coming here, Ye Zheng had just used a large shell to heat water and pour it over her body. She hadn’t found anything suitable for bathing and boiling a lot of water was a bit of a waste.

But unexpectedly, Andrew actually had taken her to the crater of an island, which hosted a geothermal hot spring. This high up, there was also a fine layer of snow. The two extreme temperatures made Ye Zheng feel like she was wearing a fur sweater, especially with the cold sea breeze.

At first, Andrew had launched himself into the water with Ye Zheng but as soon as he touched the water, he quickly jumped out and lay on the cold stone.

“Andrew?” Ye Zheng was puzzled by his behavior and moved away from the center of the hot spring. “This is…” She was surprised to find that Andrew was a little pink all over his body!

She immediately had an extremely incredible thought, thinking about shrimp that changed color in high temperatures. “Are you… cooked?”

(Please read this translation on https://erzoohobbytranslating.wordpress.com)

“No!” Andrew exclaimed angrily, “Andrew raw!”

Although the mermaid insisted that he was not cooked, he was still lying firmly on the cold stone. Obviously the hot temperature was unbearable to the cold-bodied mermaid.

“Really? Won’t come in?” Ye Zheng couldn’t help but hum their love song, asking sickeningly sweetly, “Really… not coming?”

The mermaid eagerly looked at Ye Zheng soaking in the water, and quickly dipped the tip of his tail into the water. As soon as the tail touched the water, it was like he had been shocked.

Ye Zheng smiled as the mermaid lay angrily on the stone. “Ha ha!” Ye zheng laughed. Smiling, she cupped a handful of water and splashed him. The warm water collected the falling snow and by the time it hit Andrew, it was much cooler.

The mermaid who had originally not been afraid of this harmless water, now acted like he was drowning.

“Zheng Zheng!” He shouted in a sharp voice, looking at Ye Zheng with twelve points of grievances. He stared at her as she sat in the poor and poured water over her shoulder and suddenly his voice became more and more delicate, “Zheng Zheng… Zheng Zheng…”

Coquettishly, he called her over and over again. However, when he saw that she was unresponsive, the mermaid cried angrily and turned his face away, putting his dorsal fin in her direction.

Really angry…?

Ye Zheng, who had pretended not to see the mermaid, suddenly regretted teasing him and approached the mermaid slowly. Then she noticed that Andrew had turned his head in a very awkward pose to peek at her from under his arm.

I have been tricked! The words flashed quickly in Ye Zheng’s head.

Their eyes met and Andrew quickly lay back down, pretending that the one who had been just peeking was not him. His tail twitched uncomfortably.

“Andrew?” Ye Zheng called, squatting in the water to poke him with a finger. The mermaid did not respond. She rubbed his ear fins, “Andrew?” The mermaid still did not respond.

Ye Zheng sighed and stood up, exposing the upper half of her body to the cold air. Bowing her head, she kissed his cheek.

“Okay, Andrew.”

The mermaid turned around and looked at her proudly.

  ……

Reason for abandonment: The hot spring found that the cause and effect of use was too cumbersome to explain.

 (three) hatchling pups a

Ye Zheng woke up to find that her fish egg was gone! Quickly, she looked around for Andrew.

“Andrew? Where is little Andrew?”

Her mermaid, who had been sitting with his head above water, waiting for her to wake up, pulled himself up, revealing his upper body.

Startled, Ye Zheng looked closely. Somehow Andrew had found a fish skin bag and the egg was wrapped neatly inside, hanging off his body.

Ye Zheng was very surprised, were mermaids all hatched by their dads?

Andrew explained seriously, “Andrew will have little Andrew.”

“Oh, oh, okay…” Ye Zheng struggled to accept this. Except for penguins, she couldn’t think any any other species that was raised by the males.

Her eyes swept over the bulging bag on Andrew’s abdomen and felt a little weird. Why was it that when she was pregnant, her belly was not as big as Andrews?

 (four) hatchling puppies b

Ye Zheng realized that the fish eggs were gone. She shouted twice and found that Andrew, who had always been very timely, did not appear.

Now she was very anxious. Andrew was not here, the child shouldn’t have been stolen by another creature, right?

Although she did not believe that there was any creature, especially a sea creature, brave enough to rush into a mermaid’s nest, but at this moment she could not help but worry…

Quickly, she got out of bed and ran to the entrance of the cave. However, as soon as she reached the hole, she stopped, having spotted Andrew by the sea.

Ye Zheng sighed in relief and hurried to his side.

“Andrew? Why are you here, where is the egg?” She anxiously asked him a series of questions.

Andrew slowly arched his dorsal fin and motioned Ye Zheng to look at the sandy ground beside his abdomen. Looking down, Ye Zheng suddenly realized there was a round thing buried in the sand next to him. Ye Zheng was positive this was their child.

She squatted down and looked carefully at the fish eggs buried in the sand. It looked intact and in excellent condition. Ye Zheng looked up at the sun and wondered, is this using solar energy to incubate the babies? Did Andrew plan on staying here?

Ye Zheng reached out and touched his back. It was very hot from the sun and she was worried he would not be able to withstand it.

“Andrew, how do you feel right now?

(Please read this translation on https://erzoohobbytranslating.wordpress.com)

Andrew did not answer, slowing turning over to lie face-up and bury his dorsal fins, which had become very hot, in the damp sand.

It seemed he had made his mind to pancake himself like this on the beach until the child hatched.

……

Reason for abandonment: Both methods are too stupid.

The author has something to say:

At this point, this article really has to finish with everyone. This text is the product of the sudden inspiration of the girl’s heart, and then it was written smoothly along the way. I hope everyone likes this article.

Here, I am very grateful for your message support along the way, which has greatly encouraged me. After all, the coursework is very heavy, and if there is no reminder from you, the author may have to drag on and be idle without knowing when.

But this still caused a little burden to the author, and the continuous late sleep was still a bit overwhelming. Next, the author will readjust his work schedule and start preparing for the final exam, and then have a rest, so it will temporarily disappear for a while, and then come back in July.

TN: I hope you all have enjoyed this story as much as I have, the author is very creative and I really enjoyed the characters they created.

I especially loved the last plots with seahorse!Andrew and seaturtle!Andrew dad.

    1. Hello, I’m glad you enjoyed it! At the moment I have one or two I’m looking at but they are going to have to wait until my classes settled down a bit. I’m also still open to suggestions if you have one in mind. I tried looking through the NU forums but I didn’t see anything that caught my eye.

      1. All the best with your classes! Can’t wait for your next project 🙂 I don’t have any suggestions at the moment but do you have any preferences in the type of novel you’re translating?

      2. I am looking for a Chinese romance with a relatively simple plot and not too many chapters. Since I have to google translate, historical novels might be too hard. I don’t particularly like harem novels and I definitely don’t like anything super rapey.

      3. Why don’t you try with Chestnuts’s novels? There are some of her novels that haven’t been translated yet. If you like warm or light novels, hers might pique your interest…

  7. http://www.jjwxc.net/oneauthor.php?authorid=1082129 —-) This is the Chestnut’s page

Oh, by the way, 没出息的豪门女配[重生] or The unpromising wealthy female partner [Rebirth] doesn’t have a translator yet, (http://www.jjwxc.net/onebook.php?novelid=4139482). It has 100 chapters, I read in shubaow then in oldtimescc, you could consider reading in shubaow first, then in oldtimes. I like how even though she went back in time she didn’t become a psycho, she simply became a better person, but the FL was still cute QAQ. Oh, right, thee novel is also not too harsh to the O!FemaleLead, I mean, yeah they don’t have a good relationship, but not to the point they would scheme a r*pe or a car accident. Lol. The side story about ML’s secretary and FL’s friend is dope though.

Also, I think that she has three more novels in Truly Precious Universe (Wine (?), tourism, and wedding organizer)

In the tourism novel, it’s quite hilarious to see ML chasing FL. He’s so shameless 🙂

Unfortunately, I haven’t tried about the wine and the wedding organizer ones.

Anyway, good luck in finding a book you really like. But remember to have enough rest though, and stay safe! ❤

  8. XDDDDD lmao why are those egg care methods so funny
I’m glad the first plot didn’t make it; it sounds sad af. I mean, how would they ever reunite? ;-; that aside, what’s with the “terrier”? xD
Thank you so much for translating this! I really enjoyed it 😀 a cute, funny and adorable story~ I kinda wish we got more of Andrew’s pov. I was surprised by its simplicity (no wonder though, considering his age lmao as well as his different species), but then it turned sweet and wholesome at the end and I just want moah TAT xD I liked reading about Zheng Zheng and “Andrew” (will we ever know what his actual name is lolol. Was it that Shi Shiran? If so, that sounds nice :D) and their gradually developing relationship. They make me go “aww~” >w< thanks again, and have a wonderful day 🙂

  10. Thank you very much for translating this novel and saving us the pain of reading unedited machine translation!
This one was one of the weirdest romance novels I’ve ever read. From the start till the part when they had their first intercourse, I kept thinking that Andrew would gradually somehow turn into a human or have a human shape he can change into. but it turned out be completely wrong! She seriously did it with a merman, a fish! I feel like my understanding of the romance genre has truly broadened.

  13. Thanks! My translation is actually probably really off, since I use google. It just reads smoothly because I go over it and made edits to make it more legible. I get sentences like ‘the girl eyes had gratitude and gratitude’ and I think about it and change it to “The girl’s eyes were filled with gratitude and appreciation’. I have no idea if google translated it right, but I can at least make it an enjoyable read. I do think that my style misses out on some of the important idioms and cultural references, but there isn’t much I can do about it. Thanks for reading!

  14. Hello, I belong to a Spanish translation page, and I am interested in translating this story into Spanish. I would like to ask permission for the retranslation of this story. Would you give me your permission please.

    1. Hello, sorry I took so long to respond! Of course you can use my translations, I’m extremely flattered that you like them enough to want to translate them. I just want to remind you, though, that my translations are 50% machine-translating via google and 50% using instinct to figure out the best way to phrase the sentence. I’m absolutely positive that my posts are not very accurate and there is likely a lot of context that I’ve accidentally left out or edited incorrectly, so be sure to keep that in mind when you’re translating!
