Chapter 7

Ye Zheng’s chest was now cold and if she had been alone, she would have started to curse.

Two people, oh no, one person and one fish, were simply not able to speak the same language. What’s the use of explaining for so long?! In the end, the mermaid understood her movement of pulling the collar! This was fine but now her last piece of intact clothing was ruined.

Even if it wasn’t a person standing in front of Ye Zheng, she still felt embarrassed and depressed in front of the ‘outsider’. She gathered her clothes uncomfortably and wanted to at least use the jean strips to tie up her shirt.

However, at this moment the mermaid stretched out its cold hands. It’s cold fingers covered the red beans on the front of Ye Zheng’s chest and squeezed.

Petrified Ye Zheng looked at its big innocent eyes as he retracted his claws and pinched the fins in front of his own chest. When in a calm state, the fins on its chest obediently obeyed his commands. The mermaid used his claws to lift up a piece of fin, trying to imitate Ye Zheng’s small red beans which were raised slightly because of his movement.

“…You idiot ah, ah, ah!!!”

Ye Zheng could not help snarl at him, her voice suddenly raising an octave, and in this cave it was exceptionally loud. Even if she knew that the fish didn’t understand anything, his recent actions still made Ye Zheng extremely ashamed.

“How can you squeeze me casually! You scratched my pants, and then tore my clothes again! Even with that! You actually… actually still…”

Ye Zheng fiercely tied the rag strips of jeans on her body and gathered her shirt. She shouted angrily at the mermaid while waving her arms meaninglessly.

Mermaid was shocked by her shouting. When Ye Zheng stormed out of the exit, its body suddenly shuddered and it did not maintain balance, falling back to the ground. Although it obviously couldn’t understand what Ye Zheng was shouting, in the end, her every move, every word, every look on her face, all expressed her unusually angry mood.

The body of the mermaid twitched uncomfortably on the ground. It didn’t look angry but it didn’t leave and its eyes kept staring at Ye Zheng’s face.

The mermaid was quiet until Ye Zheng’s voice went numb from shouting. He carefully moved his inflexible tail on the sand next to Ye Zheng’s feet and gently patted her instep.

Ye Zheng came to a stop only to find that she didn’t know when her face had become covered with tears.

Are you mad at the mermaid or just angry? Are you sad about your clothing or are you sad about your situation? Maybe Ye Zheng was the one who didn’t understand.

The mermaid looked at her tearful face and the tip of the tail swept slowly across Ye Zheng’s instep, patting her again, the comfort was obvious.

Ye Zheng stared down at the dark blue tail covering her instep, and he lifted it up again flatly, shaking the thin film on its sides, obviously teasing her.

Ye Zheng pursed her lips and suddenly started crying heavily again.

Humans were such a strange species. If they were alone, maybe the feeling would pass after crying. But if someone said comfortingly at this time, ‘don’t cry’, it would make them cry even more fiercely.

Ye Zheng was not exempt. She walked for so long, thirsty and hungry, and she was tired. She almost fell down many times. With perseverance, she reached this waterfall, and she hadn’t had the time or mood to cry along the way. In such a safe cave now, with a fish that could understand her feelings lying in front of her, she finally had time to mourn her disappointment and sadness.

Ye Zheng was sobbing and crying on her knees, leaning against the wall and weeping.

The mermaid saw that Ye Zheng had no longer lost her temper. He carefully moved his tail and leaned over.

Ye Zheng was crying when a big face came up in front of her, and the tip of the nose of a man and fish touched. Frightened by it, Ye Zheng hiccuped and stopped crying. She stared blankly at the enlarged face in front of her.

This mermaid carefully scraped the bottom of Ye Zheng’s eyelids with his fingers, and then licked his fingers on his lips.

Ye Zheng felt the blood rush to her face: Could this fish stop doing such strange things!

When the mermaid tried to place his fingers on Ye Zheng’s cheek for the second time, she finally couldn’t help but shove his hands.

“Can you–” Ye Zheng’s high voice lowered when she saw the mermaid staring at her with big eyes, and she only felt a tightness in her chest, “Don’t do that…” She finally said unhappily.

Ye Zheng turned her head vigorously and refused to look at the fish. To the mermaid, her temper seemed so superfluous and weird, the fish understood nothing. But it was obviously impossible for Ye Zheng to accept it in a good mood. Ye Zheng couldn’t figure out who she was angrier with. One person, one fish, were deadlocked.

The mermaid beat its heavy tail again, and then stuffed Ye Zheng’s things, cloth strips, and arrows into her arms.

Ye Zheng looked up in confusion: “You want to–ah!”

She screamed suddenly, though it was no wonder Ye Zheng would do that. The mermaid held Ye Zheng, together with all her things, and he jumped across the curtain of the waterfall, plunging head-first into the water.

This cave was at least four meters above the lake! Ye Zheng felt that she had risen into the air, her body stinging from the pressure of the waterfall, and then they plunged into the water together.

The mermaid’s movements were too fast and Ye Zheng was unprepared, she unexpectedly… choked on the water.

“Cough, you… cough…” Ye Zheng complained hard. The water in her trachea was very painful. She struggled to push her head out of the water, but she still choked and wheezed. Her lungs were about to break.

The tail of the mermaid swayed slightly under the water, gently brushing Ye Zheng’s feet. Its upper body was very stable, holding Ye Zheng in his arms almost motionlessly.

Seeing Ye Zheng finally no longer panting, the mermaid returned the objects that Ye Zheng had lost while choking on the water back to her hand, and then pushed Ye Zheng backward, towards the river, downstream to the sea!

The mermaid was very dexterous and fast, it quickly rushed into the sea with Ye Zheng.

Ye Zheng was riding on his back but because its speed was too fast, Ye Zheng had to lean down. She held the fin on his back tightly.

Ye Zheng had seen how fast it was when its fins were fully deployed, far from the current speed. But now perhaps to take care of her, it restrained the many sharp bone spurs and its hind fins lay snugly, letting Ye Zheng hold them.

Ye Zheng didn’t know where this mermaid was going to take her, but because she was with this fish, Ye Zheng was not as scared as when she was looking for her own place.

After about two hours, when Ye Zheng felt that her body was very stiff, she finally saw many islands in front of her.

After swimming, Ye Zheng took a closer look, and found that the distance between each island was not long, probably tens of meters, and the blue water around the island group was the same as sapphires. Ye Zheng could see the seabed clearly. She estimated the depth of the sea was only three or five meters.

The islands reminded Ye Zeng of the Maldives she once traveled to, where the water was so shallow and blue.

The mermaid found the largest island, and then carefully placed Ye Zheng, who was completely stiff, on the beach.

“Hiss—”

Ye Zheng took a deep breath and felt every bone and muscle regain their dexterity after the stiffness. The inner side of her legs, especially the inner thigh, burned with hot pain.

Ye Zheng’s legs, rubbed raw from climbing trees, were soaked in the sea water for so long that they were red and swollen. The places she had scrubbed her skin while bathing in the waterfall pool had only tingled at the time but now were very painful.

Ye Zheng sucked cool air into her mouth, her fingers hovering above her skin, but she dared not press down. She secretly blamed herself because at that time there was only a little tingling, so Ye Zheng didn’t care about the broken skin, and even forgot to remind the mermaid to look at the inside of her thigh.

What? What about that mermaid?

Ye Zheng just looked at the inside of her thigh, only to find that the big fish was gone.

He didn’t wait for her to think too much before he appeared again with a ‘wow’ sound.

He separated Ye Zheng’s legs, spit out some green, chewed algae from his mouth, and stuck it on Ye Zheng’s skin.

The glob of poorly chewed, slimy seaweed was cool and it brought a trace of relief to Ye Zheng’s hot and painful skin. Ye Zheng soon felt that it was not as uncomfortable as it was before.

The mermaid wiped off the mass of seaweed slowly, not letting any part swell up.

When the pain in Ye Zheng’s body eased, the psychological discomfort reappeared again.

Ye Zheng looked down at the mermaid who was busy between her legs, only to feel that her face, which had just been cooled off by the sea breeze, was slowly warming up and the temperature was rising.

Ah, it’s not diverting her legs, it’s just squeezed in the middle…

The author has something to say: When writing this chapter, the author was girlish …

Is it possible for readers to feel it?
